Position Purpose/Summary The Mining /Geology Engineer will be responsible for supervising the day to day operation of prospecting new materials for cement production, detailed studies for existing quarries and controlling mining activities including additives materials mixing and storage. "Main Roles & Responsibilities" 1 Prepare detailed studies and short-term plan for existing quarries to cover annual production budgeted raw materials quantities. 2 Execute the quarry plan and undertake prospecting for raw material 3 Arrange detailed study of raw material deposit 4 Supervise surveying, drilling and sampling programs for active quarries 5 Examine rocks, minerals and fossil remains to identify and determine litho-logical sequence, chemical properties that affecting of existing quarries 6 Conduct core logging, preparing samples, and coordinate with Quality Control Department for the analysis. 7 Correlate the analysis of core samples with the raw material and establish the useable reserves for future planning. 8 Delineate dolomite and other waste materials occurring in quarry and coordinate with extraction sub-section for removal of these overburden/waste materials. 9 Responsible for the compatibility between the quality and quantities as per stockpile design and capacity. Qualifications 1 Bachelor’s degree in Mining/ Geology Engineering 2 2+ years of experience in a Mining 3 Knowledge of the principles and practices of mining operations procedures with working knowledge of cement manufacturing process and equipment 4 Understanding of quarry exploration; experience in a quarry is real plus 5 The applicant should be proficient in the use of AutoCAD and dealing with aerial maps 6 The applicant should master the study of geological and topographic maps and their field analysis. 7 Should have knowledge of the laws and regulations of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Authority 8 Knowledge of the principles and practices of mining operations procedures with working knowledge of cement manufacturing process and equipment Skills & Competencies 1 Technical Skills 2 Crisis Management & Resolution 3 Health & Safety 4 Risk and crisis management
